Why it matters
A cause for sainthood does not move forward on admiration. It moves on evidence that God is answering the prayers of those who ask through this particular person. After the beatification, a second confirmed miracle is needed for canonization, and it must come about in the ordinary way: someone prays, by name, for a definite need, and receives what they asked. A favour that no one reports is a favour the Church cannot examine.
